Let me say up-front: This film, like the Second Season but moreso, is a story of Desslok and Gamilon more than of the Star Force and Earth.

The Story

After making peace with the Star Force, Gamilon Leader Desslok set off to return to Gamilon to rebuild it.

When he arrived, he found that it had been occupied by forces of the Black Nebula Empire. There was a mineral extraction station embedded into Gamilon's inner shelf. During the battle to rid Gamilon of its parasitic invaders, the extraction station exploded, causing the entire surface of Gamilon to erupt into a mass of burning magma. Gamilon exploded and was no more.

Iscandar flew off into space, hitting a natural warp rift in space which caused the planet to effectively warp out of the Magellenic Cloud towards a black hole known as the Gravity Nebula.

Chasing after Iscandar, Desslok's fleet is attacked by the Black Nebula fleet, whose flagship is the Pleiades. Captain Deda, of the Pleiades, succeeds in forcing Desslok's fleet to retreat onto the surface of Iscandar.

Desslok sends a call for help. Just in time, the Star Force arrives, having been interrupted from a training mission, and succeeds in destroying Pleiades with the Wave Motion Gun.

Derek Wildstar greets Desslok, and also Starsha and Alex Wildstar, who have been on Iscandar for two years. But, the Black Nebulans call up reinforcements -- the AutoStar Goruba -- a huge black armoured battle fortress (looks like a big black Ming urn in space) which is impervious to even a Wave Motion Gun.

Deda, commander of the Goruba, wipes out almost all of Desslok's fleet, and begins to bombard the Iscandarian capitol, Mother Town, with its giant plasma cannons. All seems lost to Goruba's rain of fire until Desslok, in desperation, rams Goruba's cannon muzzle with his flagship.

With a weak point in Goruba's armour now exposed, Desslok begs the Starforce to fire the Wave Gun at his ship, and thereby hitting Goruba in the one stop it is vulnerable. Desslok pleads that he loves the Iscandarian Queen this much. Derek reluctantly agrees to fire.

Queen Starsha, watching all along, intervenes and agrees to surrender Iscandar if Goruba spares Desslok and the Starforce. She then seals Alex Wildstar and their daughter, Sasha, into an escape pod and launches them into space. General Meldaz of the Goruba agrees, and descends his fortress on the planet. When Goruba gets close enough, and the Starforce and Desslok's fleet are far enough away, Starsha detonates Iscandar's ancient doomsday bomb, destroying the planet, herself, and Goruba.

Derek Wildstar bids farewell to Desslok, now overcome with grief and loss, who departs to find a new home (which we hear more about in TV Season 3).

Alex Wildstar and Sasha return to Earth on the Argo. But, the Black Nebula Empire is still out there... setting the stage for the next movie, Be Forever Yamato.
