The Star Force is chased by Lysis's fleet into a galactic whirlpool wherein its energy is drained by a black hole. Queen Starsha contacts the Star Force for the first time since their mission began, and somehow, sends a stream of energy to them, enabling them to escape the whirlpool.
There are strong plot similarities between this episode and that of the Second Season, 2-08 in that the Star Force is rescued from the space storm only through intervention of their mysterious female alien benefactor.
The Star Force stops at a planet to retrieve food. Nova and IQ-9 are captured creatures that "seem to be humanoids with the characteristics of bees". Their Queen Meleena (not to be confused with Matsumoto's Queen Millenia) is controlled by the Gamilons, and her workers produce Royal Bee Jelly for Gamilon's consumption. We learn IQ-9 has emotion programming and somewhat of a libido. His romantic advances towards Nova are what result in their scout vessel crashing.
Note: Meleena's voice seems to have been played by the same actress who did Princess Invidia's. Coincidently, they two have similar physical characteristics. Also, the unnamed Gamilon official who speaks to Meleena seems to have General Talan's voice (though slightly altered). Finally, we should note that in the Japanese version of the story, we learn that the Royal Bee Jelly is made from the ground up bodies of dead Bee People. Thus, we might feel a little squeamish when Nova tells IQ-9,
"IQ? I thought you'd like to know that the Bee People gave us lots of fresh food, and some of their very special HONEY!"
