Continued from page 1.

Here is the continued listing of Star Blazers ships worth mentioning. Actually, we have tried to be as extensive as possible. This list was composed from information contained in Roman Album #53 and #54, and from simply watching the episodes and movies.
Desslok's first flagship is little more than an escape craft which was originally part of the command center that hung from Gamilon's outer shelf. It has a small wave motion gun called the Desslok Cannon.
The new (classic) flagship that Desslok uses during Season 2 was possibly granted to him by the Comet Empire, which helped get him up and running after being lost in subspace. This is not certain, though it does seem that the Comet Empire is the source of this flagship in the movie, Arrivederci Yamato, as Desslok and Talan are the only two Gamilon's around. That is to say, if the ship had come from Gamilons, we would expect other Gamilons to be around and aiding in Desslok's fight with the Star Force. In any event, it's an adaptation of his first flagship, with SMITE projectors at its bow. We see this new flagship again in Final Yamato.

This is simply a Battle Carrier class ship with a small Desslok Cannon installed on its deck. Desslok is seen to have left the Star Force in a green battle carrier. It is not known whether this is the same ship re-painted or a new one. In either case, this 260 m carrier serves as Desslok's pro tempore flagship in New Journey.

This is the four-arm fighter carrier used to attack the Star Force as it makes its first space warp. It is more maneuverable than the deck carriers that use artificial gravity.
Shown here, this is perhaps the most familiar and most effective Gamilon ship.

It has two main cannon ports in front (one on each side of the ship) capable of delivering blasts of the strength found on the main cannons of much larger battleships. It also has a few rotating turret cannons.
This is basically a souped-up Destroyer.

Being larger, it has four main cannon ports in front, two supplemental missile launch tubes at mid-ship, and one large triple-tube missile turret atop mid-ship. An obvious design flaw with this ship is the fact that this turret cannot fire directly ahead without blasting off the dorsal bow crest (strictly ornamental anyway). And, it does not seem that the turret can turn.
This ship has only two main cannon ports, but four missile launching tubes. It is about the same size as the Cruiser.
The 260 m battle carrier is one of Gamilon's more successful designs.

It has a single gravity-based launch deck which can be turned over to reveal a deck of cannons and missile ports. It is from one of these carriers (a red one) that Lysis launches his Drill Missile. General Garrat also controls his "starfly" operation from one such green carrier. Only Desslok's carrier (which is shown here) has the Desslok cannon installed.
More common but less versatile than the Battle Carrier is the standard triple-deck carrier. These seem to have no offensive capability other than their fighter planes.
Used by Lysis in his operations from planet Balan. This grey ship is not very menacing; used primarily for command.
80 m in diameter. This saucer-shaped ship is equipped with a new Gamilon technology, SMITE (Space Matter Instant Transforming Equipment), which allows small craft to be warped or teleported to a great distance from the launch site. This is great for surprise attacks.
While the Yamato III RA says this ship is 1.35 km long, other sources say that it is only 805 m long. Either way, it is a huge craft. Galman ships in general seem to be quite large, but this one is their largest. It has a giant Desslok gun, called the Excelsior Cannon (Hyper-Desslok Cannon) with which Desslok effortlessly destroyes Bolar Prime Minister Bemlayze's mobile fortress in the Earth system.
This is a relatively small ship with only one main armament, the Desslok gun.
Acts primarily as a tug-boat for the huge, planet-destroying proton missiles. The combined length of the ship and the missile is 648 m.
Though larger than the Medium Battleship, it does not appear to have a Desslok gun.
Comes with a Desslok gun.
These ships are scientific vessels. They are used by the Galmans to hurl rocks into the expanding Sun in an attempt to control its fusion. Major Cranshaw is at the command of a fleet of these ships.
This is a much larger version of the old Gamilon battle carrier design. Although this is presumeably a Galman ship, Desslok's fleet is shown with one when first travelling to Galman. Unless this was a oversight, it implies that the carrier was developed by the Gamilons themselves.
These small vessels (L192m) are able to submerge themselves into sub-space, masking them from detection by conventional scanning devices. They are the heart of Commander Ferrel's fleet. However, it does not take Sandor long to develop a sub-space "sonar" device that will detect them. It is not clear how vulnerable submerged ships are when attacked by weapons in normal space. The Galmans seem concerned about it, though. We see this ship in the Galman military parade and in battle.
As the name implies, this new carrier has a total of six lauch decks. It also has a SMITE teleporting zone mouted directly on the deck so that planes can be warped into space before they fly off the runway. I suppose the next logical step is to have it such that no runway is needed.
